The way people shop today is different from
way they shopped 20 years ago thanks to

developing online commerce as it is known today.
founded Amazon.com as a way to sell books.
sold novels, how-to books, and textbooks through Amazon,
that was just the beginning. He branched out
other retail products. Today, Amazon is the largest
retailer in the world.
Born on January 12,
in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Bezos demonstrated mechanical proficiency
an early age. He attended high school in
states, Texas and Florida, and was class valedictorian.
Princeton, he studied computer science, winning several awards,
participating in several extracurricular activities.
He moved to
, Washington in 1994 to start his new company,
.com. He chose the state of Washington because of
small population. The United States Supreme Court recently
that online sales were required to pay sales
in the state of operation. He moved to

Today, Amazon.com is the largest
