Dear ESL Fast Community Member,

ESL Robot was created to help people learn English on ESL Fast. Our goal has always been to build a tutor that feels just like a real person. With the latest AI technology, we have never been closer to making this dream a reality!

Meet Your AI Tutor

When you open the ESL Fast homepage, you will see a "Talk to Your Tutor" button in the bottom-right corner of the screen (make sure to log in first).

You can also access it after logging in by clicking the Dashboard button in the top-right corner, then selecting "Meet Your AI Tutor" from the left menu.

At the top of the screen, you will see ESL Robot 5.0. This is our newest and most advanced version yet! It acts just like a human tutor to guide your studies by helping you:

  • Practice making sentences.
  • Correct mistakes in your writing.
  • Answer any questions you have about learning English.
  • Handle follow-up questions smoothly.
  • Take interactive tests.

Free Chat

If you want to practice conversational English and have fun, select "Free Chat" from the menu. Here, you can chat with the bot just like you would with a native English speaker. You can talk about any topic or ask any question. The bot's responses are kept short and simple - perfect for English learners!

Helpful Features & Buttons

You can type your messages, or you can use your device's built-in features to speak and listen:

  • Voice Input: Use the built-in microphone on your smartphone or desktop to speak instead of typing. Speech recognition technology has improved significantly, so you don't need to worry about your accent - the bot will understand you!
  • Text-to-Speech: Click the Speaker icon at the top to turn on Text-to-Speech and hear the bot speak its responses.
  • Save Your Chat Log: Click the Copy button to quickly copy your conversation and paste it anywhere you like to keep for future review.

Coming Soon to ESL Robot

We are constantly working on new features. Soon, ESL Robot will be able to:

  1. Act as a personal reading tutor: After you read an essay, ESL Robot can ask comprehension questions, explain difficult sentences, and help you grasp the main ideas.
  2. Provide extra listening and speaking practice: After listening to an ESL Fast conversation, you can discuss the topic with ESL Robot, which will encourage you to speak more.
  3. Explain exercise errors: Help you understand why a specific answer was incorrect.
  4. Teach and review vocabulary: Create personalized practice using words from your reading assignments by explaining words in simple English, offering example sentences, asking you to use the words, and testing you on difficult vocabulary later.
  5. Help teachers track student progress: For teachers using free ESL Fast materials in class, ESL Robot will soon be able to track completed assignments, highlight common vocabulary and grammar struggles, measure speaking practice frequency, and identify appropriate reading levels.
  6. Assist with lesson planning: Teachers can ask ESL Robot for a quick summary of student difficulties and request follow-up activity suggestions based on assigned work.

In the near future, ESL Robot will be available on every page across ESL Fast. Think of it as a personal tutor who never sleeps - always ready to assist you whenever you need help.
