How the Scoring System Works
As a reminder, your scores accumulate based on your study time and completed exercises:
- Study Time: Earn 3 points for every 15 minutes you spend studying.
- Perfect Exercises: Earn 5 to 20 bonus points when you complete an exercise with a 100% score. If you don't get 100% the first time, don't worry! You can retry as many times as you need to get those reward points.
- Consistency is key! To encourage daily study, 5 points are deducted for each day you miss.

New Feature: Dictation Exercises are Live!
We are excited to announce that we have finished adding Dictation exercises to all 75 essays in the English for New USA Immigrants section!
With this update, the section now features 4 distinct types of interactive exercises:
- Reading Comprehension
- Cloze Tests
- Crossword Puzzles
- Dictation
Please try them out and report any technical issues or typos you discover. We would love to hear which type of exercise is your favorite!
Have You Chatted with Your AI Tutor Lately?
ESL Robot has been updated and split into two specialized features designed to act as your personal, individualized English tutor:
"Talk to Your AI Tutor": Acts like a structured, real-world human tutor focused on teaching and guiding your lessons.
"Free Chat": A casual, fun environment where you can freely ask questions, practice conversational phrasing, and get quick responses.
Tip for success: Try turning on your device's voice input (set to English) and enabling the speaker icon on the screen. If you practice speaking with the AI tutor for 15 to 30 minutes every day, you will notice a huge improvement in your English speaking skills in just a few months!
