Tommy loved watching baseball games on TV. He wanted to play baseball too, so he asked his dad for help. Dad smiled and said, "Let's start with the basics, Tommy." They went to the park with a bat and a ball. Dad showed Tommy how to stand with his feet apart and knees slightly bent. "Hold the bat like this," Dad said, helping him grip it. Dad pitched the ball gently. Tommy swung the bat, and missed it a few times, but he kept trying. Finally, he hit the ball! "Great job, Tommy!" Dad cheered. They practiced catching and throwing, too. They played a mini-game. Tommy hit the ball and ran to the bases. It was so much fun!
