Coach Sarah had been a competitive swimmer for many years. Now she had the opportunity to pass on her knowledge to a group of young swimmers. The kids ranged in age from six to ten. On the first day of practice, Sarah gathered the kids around the edge of the pool. She explained that they would be starting with some basic exercises. The kids were excited to get started. Sarah began by showing the kids how to blow bubbles in the water, and then she taught the kids how to kick their legs to stay afloat. She had them hold onto the side of the pool and practice kicking. Some of the kids picked it up quickly, while others needed more practice.
