Tommy was 5 years old. He was nervous but excited for his first day of kindergarten. His mom helped him get dressed and packed his backpack with his favorite snacks and a new set of crayons. When they arrived at the school, Tommy saw other kids of his age. He held his mom's hand tightly as they walked to the classroom. The teacher greeted them with a smile. She introduced him to the other kids in the class. They played with blocks, sang songs, and drew pictures together. By the end of the day, Tommy was tired but happy. He had made some new friends. He couldn't wait to come back tomorrow.
