10. Hailing a Cab

1.

A: Where do you need to go?

B: To PCC.

A: I can take you there.

B: How long is the ride?

A: It's going to take me about 25 minutes to get there.

B: Can you get me there faster?

A: That's as fast as I can get there.

B: Fine. How much will this ride be?

A: It may cost you more because of the traffic.

B: Are you serious?

A: Yes, but I'll take you there for $30.

B: That's fine. Thank you very much.

2.

A: Where would you like me to take you?

B: I need you to take me to PCC.

A: I can do that.

B: How long will it take you to get from here to PCC?

A: It'll be about 25 minutes.

B: You can't get there any faster than that?

A: That's as quick as I can do it.

B: How much are you going to charge me?

A: The traffic is going to cause you to pay more.

B: You can't be serious.

A: I'll take you to PCC for $30.

B: I can live with that.

3.

A: Where am I taking you?

B: I need to go to PCC.

A: That's no problem.

B: How long is it going to take you?

A: With traffic it'll take 25 minutes.

B: Do you think you can get there quicker?

A: I can't get there any faster.

B: How much will the fare be?

A: It will be more, because there's traffic.

B: That's crazy.

A: If you give me $30, I'll take you there.

B: How kind of you. Thank you so much.
